A man suspected of killing two individuals following a dispute at Kibuye market in Kisumu County has been apprehended four months after the alleged crime. Oliver Ochieng Jaoko, also known as Olivert, is accused of fatally hacking Evans Opiyo and Mohammed Saleh on July 1, 2024, during a disagreement over control of the proceeds from five washrooms at the market.
“Following this heinous act, Ochieng vanished into the shadows, evading capture,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations stated on Tuesday. “A manhunt was launched, and acting on a tip-off, he was located and arrested in the Manyatta area.”
