Police in Kisumu West sub-county are investigating a shocking incident where the half-naked body of a 30-year-old woman was found dumped in a borehole near Rota Beach.
The woman, believed to have been murdered by unknown individuals, was discovered wrapped in a bedsheet, tied up, and thrown into the borehole.
Victim Had Been Reported Missing
According to residents, the woman worked as a caretaker at a fish fingerling rearing site and had been missing since Tuesday. Concerns arose when calls to her phone went unanswered, prompting locals to conduct a search around the site. Their efforts led to the grim discovery of her lifeless body inside the borehole last night.
Reports indicate that the victim was only wearing a skirt, and there were visible strangulation marks on her neck, suggesting she had been killed before being dumped.
Police Launch Investigations
South West Kisumu location chief, Polycarp Omindo, confirmed the incident, stating that DCI officers had already retrieved the body to commence investigations.
Authorities are now working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder and bring the perpetrators to justice.
