Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedics

Job Summary

AAR Health Care (Kenya) Limited is seeking highly motivated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedics to undertake all emergency rescue duties professionally, efficiently, and in an organized manner within the set standards. Reporting to the Team Leader Paramedics, the successful candidates will be crucial in ensuring the operational readiness of ambulances, managing medical conditions at emergency scenes, and maintaining accurate rescue records. This role demands a strong sense of responsibility, excellent medical skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the thorough preparation and restocking of the ambulance with all necessary drugs and medical supplies required for emergency rescue operations.
  • Regularly check the ambulance stock list to verify the availability and expiry dates of all medications and supplies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and ensure the full operational readiness of the ambulance vehicle and all its onboard medical equipment.
  • Inspect and confirm that all medical equipment is in proper working order before each shift and immediately report and document any defective equipment.
  • Promptly report all vehicle defects or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel for timely action.
  • Ensure the ambulance is adequately stocked with all relevant stationary and linen required for patient care and documentation.
  • Prepare the radio room for effective communication and test all radio equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure functionality.
  • Participate in the thorough handing over and receiving of rescue reports during all shift changes to ensure continuity of information.
  • Respond swiftly and safely to emergency calls and professionally manage the medical conditions of patients at the scene according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date rescue records for all calls undertaken, including patient information, treatments administered, and observations.
