In a bold step toward securing its future, Gor Mahia Football Club officials, led by Deputy Patron Eliud Owalo, visited a 48-acre parcel of land in Lukenya, Machakos County. The purpose of the visit was to assess the site’s potential for hosting a state-of-the-art stadium and a modern sports complex.
This vision represents a historic opportunity for Gor Mahia to finally have a home ground befitting its status as Kenya’s most successful football club. The proposed development includes a 60,000-seater stadium, three professional training pitches, a 4-star hotel, player accommodation facilities, and both indoor and convertible gymnasiums.
In addition to serving the club's immediate needs, the complex will also feature recovery and media facilities, as well as retail outlets, potentially transforming it into a key sporting and commercial hub.
"This is more than just a stadium. It’s a long-term investment in the club’s future and in Kenyan football," said Owalo during the visit.
If realized, the Lukenya project would elevate Gor Mahia’s infrastructure to international standards and open up new revenue streams through hospitality, sports tourism, and merchandising.
The journey may be long, but the vision is crystal clear—Gor Mahia is building not just a stadium, but a legacy.
