Our client is looking for a talented and experienced Chef to lead kitchen operations and create exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and hygiene standards. 

Key responsibilities of a Chef

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications.
  • Ensuring proper seasoning, portioning, and presentation of meals.
  • Experimenting with and develop new recipes.
  • Supervising kitchen staff and delegate tasks efficiently.
  • Ensuring smooth kitchen operations, especially during peak hours.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Designing and updating menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Introducing creative dishes to attract and retain customers.
  • Monitoring ingredient stock levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Reducing food wastage by optimizing portion sizes and ingredient use.
  • Handling special dietary requests and customer feedback.
  • Ensuring all kitchen equipment is well-maintained and used properly.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Enforcing safety protocols to prevent kitchen accidents and injuries.
  • Ensuring all meals meet quality and taste expectations.
  • Sourcing and ordering fresh ingredients from reliable suppliers.
  • Occasionally engage with customers to receive feedback and ensure their dining experience is exceptional.
  • Manage kitchen expenses, including food and labor costs, to ensure the kitchen stays within budget.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment.
  • Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and proper food preparation.
  • Keeping up to date with new food safety regulations and implement necessary changes

Skills & Qualifications Required of a Chef

  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management
  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen, with an understanding of all cooking techniques and procedures.
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff.
  • In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • Attention to detail to quality, presentation, and consistency of dishes.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
