Kadeya Village, Kisumu County – Residents of Kadeya Village in South West Kisumu Ward were left in distress after being forced to transport the body of the late Mama Pamela Anjawo to the mortuary using an improvised method, owing to the deplorable state of roads in the area.
The heartbreaking incident has sparked public outcry, with locals accusing their area MCA, Hon. Jenifer Obonyo, of neglect and inaction. Residents say the Nyawara–Kadeya–Usare road has received budgetary allocations twice, yet no meaningful progress has been made on the ground.
"We are tired of empty promises. Funds have been allocated but the road remains impassable. Where did the money go?" lamented one of the villagers.
The lack of infrastructure has not only disrupted transportation but also raised serious concerns about accountability and service delivery in the ward.
The incident has reignited calls for transparency and urgent action from local leadership to address the persistent challenges faced by the community.
