Job Summary:
The Shop Assistant/Cashier will assist customers in the shop, handle payments, manage stock displays, and ensure excellent customer service. The role is key to maintaining smooth daily operations and creating a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
-Welcome and assist customers warmly.
-Operate the cash register or POS (Point of Sale) system.
-Handle cash, M-Pesa, and card transactions accurately.
-Maintain stock displays and organize merchandise neatly.
-Keep the shop clean, organized, and well-stocked.
-Answer customer questions about products and services.
-Report any customer complaints or unusual activities to the supervisor.
-Assist in stock-taking and inventory counts.
-Ensure correct pricing and tagging of goods.
-Follow company policies on returns, exchanges, and promotions.
Qualifications:
-KCSE Certificate (Minimum D plain or above).
-Basic math and computer skills.
-Good communication and customer service skills.
-Ability to work under minimal supervision.
-Previous retail experience is an added advantage but NOT a must for entry-level.
-Honest, reliable, and polite.
