According to local authorities, the attack took place at the student's home where she was sleeping alongside her younger brother. A man—allegedly the student’s boyfriend—broke into the house under the cover of darkness and launched a violent assault.
The young girl sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, while her brother, who attempted to intervene, was severely wounded. He is currently admitted to a local hospital where he is fighting for his life.
