Sous Chef Position
Job Summary
Assisting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in the development of the menus for his/her section and for special functions, in accordance with food budget.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in menu development for assigned section and special functions while adhering to food budget
- Focus on reduction of unnecessary waste in the kitchen
- Ensure optimal team rostering to minimize overtime while maintaining productivity
- Coordinate and prepare all menu items according to schedule and first-class kitchen standards
- Take personal interest in guest satisfaction and dining experience
- Respond promptly to guest requests/complaints following hotel policy
- Ensure team compliance with Health & Safety regulations
- Coordinate with Stewarding and Maintenance Departments on cleaning schedules
- Perform additional duties as required to meet business demands
Qualifications Required
- Previous experience in the culinary field required
- Diploma Certification in a culinary discipline
- Computer literate in Microsoft applications
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communicator in English (oral and written)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous
