Sous Chef Position

Job Summary

Assisting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in the development of the menus for his/her section and for special functions, in accordance with food budget.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in menu development for assigned section and special functions while adhering to food budget
  • Focus on reduction of unnecessary waste in the kitchen
  • Ensure optimal team rostering to minimize overtime while maintaining productivity
  • Coordinate and prepare all menu items according to schedule and first-class kitchen standards
  • Take personal interest in guest satisfaction and dining experience
  • Respond promptly to guest requests/complaints following hotel policy
  • Ensure team compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Coordinate with Stewarding and Maintenance Departments on cleaning schedules
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet business demands

Qualifications Required

  1. Previous experience in the culinary field required
  2. Diploma Certification in a culinary discipline
  3. Computer literate in Microsoft applications
  4. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  5. Excellent communicator in English (oral and written)
  6. Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  7. Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous
