Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Perform general accounting functions, including ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with local regulations.
- Provide accounting support for various departments and contribute to strategic financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance to support business objectives and profitability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of local tax laws and financial regulations in Kenya.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant corporate accounting experience in a reputable organization.
- Experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards in Kenya.
- Previous experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) is an asset.
