Kazi Mtaani Relaunch 2025: Apply Now Under Climate Workx

Program Overview
The Government of Kenya has reintroduced the Kazi Mtaani initiative under the Climate Workx program. This new phase focuses on creating green and sustainable jobs for the youth while contributing to environmental and infrastructure improvement.
Key Areas of Focus
- Road Maintenance & Repair – Under supervision of KeRRA and KURA engineers
- Tree Planting, Seedling Production & Seedbed Preparation – In collaboration with Kenya Forest Service (KFS)
Program Guidelines
- Gender Parity (50:50 Rule): Equal number of male and female youth will be recruited
- 30% Disability Inclusion: 30% of positions reserved for persons with disabilities
- Eligibility: Only one applicant per household allowed
- Supervisor Roles: Prioritized for former Kazi Mtaani workers and NYS graduates
- Cohort Engagement: Work is structured in 2 cohorts, each working 10 weekdays, with values-based sessions during the off-period
- Payment:
- Workers – KES 500 per day
- Supervisors – KES 580 per day
- Payments made via M-Pesa after each 10-day shift
- Note: Avoid Fuliza or overdraft for seamless payments
Application & Awareness
The recruitment is village-based. All Assistant Chiefs and Nyumba Kumi leaders are directed to spread the word through:
- Village barazas
- Door-to-door campaigns
- Local gatherings and social meetings
This ensures all eligible youth, especially in rural areas, are informed and can apply.
