Kisumu County is preparing to host its Second Business Ecosystem Summit from August 6–8, 2025, aiming to attract over KSh 13 trillion in investments across key economic sectors.

Strategic Growth Areas

  • Agriculture and Agro-processing
  • Blue Economy and Port Infrastructure
  • Renewable Energy and Green Tech
  • Tourism and Real Estate
  • Manufacturing and ICT

Infrastructure Already Underway

Projects driving this momentum include:

  • New airport control tower (completion by May 2025)
  • LV Marina: A Sh120 billion real estate development on Lake Victoria
  • Roads, markets, Huduma centers and digital innovation hubs

Deals from the First Summit

The 2023 summit led to over a dozen partnerships including:

  • Drone logistics by SkyCat
  • Pharmaceutical plant by Med Aditus
  • Housing deals with LAPFUND
  • Hotels, mobile assembly plants, water ATMs

Governor Nyong’o's Vision

Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o has reiterated his vision to make Kisumu the region’s investment capital by promoting:
