Accounts Officer – Insurance Brokerage Firm
Location: Kisumu
Our client, a leading insurance brokerage firm, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Accounts Officer — not merely an employee, but a long-term partner to grow with the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements specific to insurance operations.
- Manage premium trust accounts, client invoicing, and reconciliation of premiums and commissions.
- Oversee claims processing and refunds with accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle reinsurance accounting and risk-transfer analysis.
- Implement strong internal controls specific to insurance accounting.
- Coordinate audits and compile required financial documentation.
- Stay updated with insurance regulations and adjust accounting practices accordingly.
- Develop financial models to analyze underwriting profitability trends.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 1-2 years of accounting or underwriting experience in an insurance brokerage.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and accounting standards.
