🌍 Communications Officer Opportunity – United for Global Mental Health
Are you passionate about mental health, digital communication, and global advocacy? United for Global Mental Health (UnitedGMH) is looking for a Communications Officer to focus on social media, email, and website content — helping to grow the profile and impact of both UnitedGMH and the Global Mental Health Action Network (GMHAN).
About UnitedGMH
United for Global Mental Health works to ensure everyone, everywhere has access to good mental health. We specialize in policy, advocacy, and financing, and we host GMHAN – a coalition of 6,000+ mental health advocates across 133 countries.
About the Role
As Communications Officer, you will:
- Create and manage social media content across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Bluesky
- Write newsletters and email campaigns using Mailchimp
- Manage and update content on WordPress and Squarespace websites
- Produce platform-ready video/audio content, including short-form videos and podcasts
- Handle community engagement and social listening
- Maintain consistent brand tone and visual identity
- Track performance using analytics and provide regular reports
- Coordinate the content calendar for campaigns and events
- Support the team with supplier invoicing, journalist lists, and admin tasks
Ideal Candidate
- Skilled in copywriting, proofreading, and content planning
- Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Trello, and social media schedulers like AgoraPulse
- Understands CRM systems and digital campaign tools
- Highly organized and deadline-driven
- Interest in mental health, advocacy, or international development
- Willingness to travel at least twice a year
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in social media, web content, or email campaigns
