Program Manager (Remote) – African Climate Foundation
Background
The African Climate Foundation (ACF) is the first and only African-led climate change re-granting organisation on the continent. Through grant making, fellowships, research, technical assistance, and advocacy, ACF supports initiatives at the nexus of climate and development that foster long-term socio-economic transformation and inclusive growth.
Purpose of the Role
The Programme Manager will lead ACF’s Green Industrialisation Programme, aiming to support African nations in transitioning from carbon-intensive growth to sustainable, inclusive, and low-carbon industrial development. A key component of this role involves implementing ACF’s Critical Minerals Strategy and establishing the Critical Minerals Support Facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of the Green Industrialisation Programme.
- Engage governments, regional bodies, and private stakeholders to identify and support climate-resilient industrial strategies.
- Implement the Critical Minerals Strategy and manage the Critical Minerals Support Facility.
- Facilitate partnerships that advance green manufacturing, circular economy, and electric mobility across Africa.
- Support technical assistance, capacity building, and ESG governance improvements in critical minerals sectors.
- Develop and manage strategic grants and partnerships aligned with programme goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in programme management within climate, development, or industrial policy domains.
- Proven expertise in political economy, strategic partnerships, and policy innovation.
- Strong experience working with African governments, private sector, and regional entities.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in economics, development, public policy, or related field preferred.
