🚛 Depot Operations Officer – Oil & Gas Depot, Kisumu

🎯 Role Purpose:
To oversee day-to-day operations at the oil depot, ensuring effective and compliant management of logistics, customs clearance and forwarding, documentation, HSE standards, inventory management, and customer support in line with both company policies and regulatory standards.
✅ Key Responsibilities
📦 Depot Operations Management
- Supervise receipt, storage, and dispatch of petroleum products.
- Monitor operations for truck turnaround efficiency and order fulfillment.
- Oversee product sampling and dispatch quality control.
🧾 Customs Operations, Clearing & Forwarding
- Manage outbound customs clearance procedures and documentation.
- Coordinate with customs officials, clearing agents, and transporters.
- Maintain accurate records for statutory compliance.
🚚 Logistics & Documentation
- Supervise loading/offloading operations and ensure proper documentation.
- Reconcile dispatch data with system records.
- Coordinate optimal transport routing with delivery teams.
📊 Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records in tanks and trucks.
- Conduct regular reconciliations and variance investigations.
⚠️ Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Implement depot safety protocols and conduct safety briefings.
- Report and investigate incidents and near-misses.
🤝 Customer Support & Relationship Management
- Coordinate with customers for timely deliveries.
- Resolve complaints and inquiries promptly.
- Maintain professional relationships with customs and partners.
📌 Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Admin, or related.
- 4–6 years of depot operations experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Experience in customs, documentation, and clearing & forwarding.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory best practices.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining safety standards.
