Mbambra Village Tragedy: Family Murdered in Siaya
A shocking incident unfolded in Mbambra village, Siaya County when a 40-year-old man allegedly attacked his family members, leaving the community in shock. Local administrator Stephen Ndoj reported that the suspect was found conscious at the scene.
“When we arrived, we found the man lying in his sitting room and a plastic bottle of Gladiator next to him,” said Ndoj. The Tuesday night incident appeared to have occurred around 9 pm, with blood already clotting by the following morning.
The father of the suspect, who reported the matter to the local administration, heard commotion from his son’s house but retired to bed. By Wednesday morning, upon checking, he realized the tragic events of the previous night.
Details of the Attack
In the bedroom, the woman was found lying face down, hit at the back of her head with a blunt object. A young boy was discovered in a pool of blood with a gaping head injury but was still breathing. He was rushed to Sigomre Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the killings is yet to be officially established, though the local administrator suspects it may have been due to a domestic dispute.
Investigation and Police Action
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) documented the scene before transferring the bodies to Ambira Sub-County Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examinations. The suspect is currently admitted to a local hospital under police protection and is expected to face murder charges upon discharge.
