Security Officer – Canopy Club & Lounge

About Canopy
Canopy is Kisumu's newest upscale club and lounge, committed to delivering a world-class, fun, vibrant, safe, and secure experience for guests and staff. We are building a professional security team emphasizing integrity, strength, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible security presence at entrance and throughout the venue.
- Manage door entry, checking IDs and verifying guest lists.
- Enforce club policies, including dress code and conduct, respectfully and firmly.
- Monitor crowd behavior and venue capacity to prevent issues.
- Patrol all areas: dance floor, bar, VIP sections, and outdoor spaces.
- Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Assist in ejecting intoxicated or disruptive guests.
- Collaborate with management, bartenders, and hosts for seamless operations.
- Provide customer service by assisting guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Complete accurate incident reports as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in security, preferably in nightclubs, bars, or event environments.
- Excellent observation, conflict de-escalation, and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
- Fluent in English and Swahili; Luo dialect is a plus.
- Professionalism, integrity, and calm under pressure.
- Customer-service oriented with authoritative presence.
- Team player who follows procedures and works collaboratively.
- Availability for nights, weekends, and public holidays.
