About Bloomberg Ocean Fund
The Bloomberg Ocean Fund (the Fund) is the regranting partner of Bloomberg Ocean Initiative, Bloomberg Philanthropies' effort to conserve and protect the world's ocean – and strengthen the health and resilience of the communities who depend on it. The Fund specializes in impactful regranting, innovative strategy development, and partner coordination, and also manages the Joint 30x30 Funding Initiative (JTTFI) to protect 30 percent of the ocean by 2030.
Job Overview
The Grants and Contracts Manager will serve as the administrative and customer service focus point of the Bloomberg Ocean Fund and the Joint 30x30 Funding Initiative, overseeing the full lifecycle of all grants and contracts from agreement to close.
Primary Responsibilities:
Grants Management:
- Oversee grants administration including processing disbursements and tracking reporting deadlines
- Track grant agreement process from proposal to execution
- Manage and maintain internal grants and contracts management system (Monday.com)
- Develop regular reports and analysis using grant data
- Coordinate with Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA) staff on processing agreements
- Liaise with grantees and program staff to support timely reporting
- Maintain data accuracy for all outgoing grants and contracts
Contracts, Invoices, and Vendor Management:
- Draft, review, and track non-grant agreements (contracts, MOUs, sponsorship expenses)
- Advise staff on appropriate tools for scope of work
- Coordinate with RPA staff on processing agreements for signature
- Submit associated invoices and payments
- Coordinate onboarding and administrative support for contractors and vendors
- Support project staff with contract updates and amendments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required (graduate degree in law, public affairs, or environmental science a plus)
- Minimum 5 years professional experience managing large pipelines and databases
- Proven project-management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Proficiency in English (additional language preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools
- Willingness to travel 2-3 times annually and work across time zones
- Right to work in the country from which applying
