We invite applications for the position of IT Assistant at our Kericho operation at Finlays Tea Extracts - Saosa Factory (also referred to as FTEK).

Job Overview:

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Assistant will assist the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as a key ERP system in Kenya and in the future cloud applications such as Salesforce or Anaplan.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Proficiency in Operating Systems with 3 years' experience with network configuration, troubleshooting and cloud platforms like Azure
  • Knowledge of hardware components and their functions
  • Fluency in various software applications and tools including remote support software, ticketing systems, and antivirus programs
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and continuously improve technical skills
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies
  • Project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line technical support to colleagues by staffing the helpdesk
  • Maintain full ownership of tickets on the Helpdesk through its lifecycle
  • Escalate support issues/equipment failures to other members of the team
  • Support both Software and Hardware in relation to Microsoft D365
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft System Centre, O365, Windows 11
  • Installation, repair and maintenance of computers, printers, peripherals
  • Deal with day-to-day administrative tasks such as password changes
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles
  • Provide support in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone or via remote desktop
  • Assist in the maintenance of the IT assets
  • Management of on-site copiers
  • Installation and upgrading of software
  • Set-up new hardware and software
  • Provide occasional out of hours support (Evenings & Weekends)
