🧪 Research Assistant/Enumerator Vacancy – Turkana County
The African Institute for Health and Development (AIHD) in partnership with Cirugía en Turkana, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), CDC, and DNDi, is implementing a program on Integrated Strategies for Mycetoma Prevention and Management in Turkana. This project aims to evaluate social, behavioral, and economic determinants affecting mycetoma control and improve quality of life for affected individuals.
📍 Location:
Kisumu County
📝 Position Description:
This is a temporary research assistant (RA)/enumerator role lasting at least two (2) weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- ✅ Attend training on data collection and research ethics.
- ✅ Conduct field data collection per study protocol.
- ✅ Ensure respondent confidentiality and data security.
- ✅ Obtain informed consent and ensure ethical compliance.
- ✅ Report progress and any challenges to the supervisor.
- ✅ Submit data and reports on time.
- ✅ Perform other assigned duties as required.
📚 Requirements:
- 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or related field.
- 🗣 Fluent in English, Kiswahili and local language.
- 📊 Experience in both qualitative and quantitative data collection (FGDs, KIIs, surveys).
- 🧠 Knowledge of research ethics and data confidentiality.
- 📅 Strong organizational skills and deadline management.
- 🌍 Applicants must be from Turkana County; preference for Loima and Turkana South residents.
