🌍 Purpose of the Role
The MEAL Specialist will lead the design and management of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems to track project results, guide decision-making, and foster continuous learning. The role involves measuring impacts like greenhouse gas reductions, climate resilience, and social equity outcomes.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain a MEAL framework aligned with GCF and FAO standards.
- Develop tools and systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Analyze data using Excel, Stata, or R; visualize findings for stakeholders.
- Lead baseline surveys, stakeholder feedback, and learning loops.
- Document progress via reports, knowledge products, and case studies.
- Coordinate with donors, implementing partners, and government agencies.
- Organize training sessions and learning events to build capacity.
📚 Requirements
- Advanced degree in project management, economics, development studies, climate change, or a related field.
- Proven MEAL experience in agriculture, food security, or climate projects.
- Proficient in tools like KoboToolbox, Excel, R, or GIS for data collection and visualization.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Must be a Kenyan citizen and preferably based in or willing to relocate to Kisumu.
