📌 Job Purpose
The Regional RM – Biashara Banking is responsible for coordinating SME/Business banking at a regional level. Reporting to the Regional RM Business, this role ensures achievement of bank strategies across loan growth, deposit mobilization, compliance, productivity, and customer service. The role is critical in developing partnerships, coaching staff, and aligning branch activities with Equity’s Biashara Banking goals.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔍 Monitoring & Quality Management
- Track daily SME loans originated and flag malpractices
- Sample disbursed loans for quality assurance
- Monitor daily arrears and ensure resolution
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
👥 Training, Mentorship & Coaching
- Train branch staff and credit committees
- Coach team on Biashara lending processes
- Promote organizational culture and values
📈 Business Growth
- Develop and review sector products
- Engage aggregators and ecosystem partners
- Support branches in marketing storms and business lead closures
- Enforce service delivery within SLAs
📊 Staff Productivity
- Conduct weekly performance reviews
- Identify talent and recommend alignment for growth
- Support staff deployment planning with Regional RM
🧑🤝🧑 Customer Service & Partnerships
- Ensure high-quality service delivery
- Act as brand ambassador for Equity Bank in the region
- Engage micro-aggregators and own their performance
- Support onboarding of branch ecosystem opportunities
📋 Reporting & Strategy
- Liaise with sector stakeholders
- Update Segment Head on Biashara Banking performance
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution
🎓 Qualifications
- Business-related university degree
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in SME/Business banking
