🌍 Communications Lead (Remote – Kenya, Tanzania or UK)
Lion Landscapes is seeking a strategic, organised, and proactive Communications Lead to manage and elevate all aspects of internal and external messaging. This full-time (or minimum 4-day per week) position is remote and ideal for candidates based in Kenya, Tanzania, or the UK.
📢 Key Responsibilities:
- Develop persuasive, evidence-based narratives for grant applications and donor reports in collaboration with fundraising teams.
- Oversee external content—newsletters, blogs, website updates, and social media—ensuring consistency and alignment with the organisation’s mission.
- Act as a spokesperson and manage media relations, including crisis communications.
- Coordinate internal communications workflows using Basecamp or similar platforms, ensuring timely and relevant storytelling across departments.
- Line-manage the Digital Communications Assistant, setting goals and reviewing outputs regularly.
- Track and report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns to continuously improve performance.
🎯 Qualifications:
- Strong storytelling, writing, and editing skills with experience in strategic communications.
- Experience leading communications or media teams, preferably in an NGO or conservation-related field.
- Comfortable handling sensitive topics and crisis communication when needed.
- Ability to analyse performance data and apply learning to improve communication outputs.
- Excellent coordination skills with experience managing calendars, content workflows, and internal teams.
💼 Position Details:
- Position Type: Full-time (minimum 4 days per week)
- Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
- Reports To: Joint CEOs
- Location: Remote – Kenya, Tanzania, or UK preferred
