Liquor Store Attendant – Kisumu CBD
Job Summary
A client with a Wines & Spirits store in Kisumu CBD is looking for a reliable Liquor Store Attendant. The successful candidate will assist customers, manage alcohol inventory, and ensure the shop operates efficiently within the law.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers with product selection.
- Provide recommendations based on preferences.
- Handle inquiries and resolve complaints politely.
2. Sales & Cash Handling
- Process transactions via POS system.
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments accurately.
- Apply discounts and verify pricing as required.
3. Inventory Management
- Restock shelves and monitor stock levels.
- Receive and display new stock properly.
- Ensure beers/wines are chilled and stored correctly.
4. Compliance & Store Safety
- Verify IDs to prevent underage alcohol sales.
- Follow local laws and operating hour rules.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the store.
5. Daily Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales and stock.
- Report damages, theft, or irregularities promptly.
Requirements & Skills
- Education: KCSE certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior retail, hospitality, or liquor store will be an added advantage.
- Legal Knowledge: Understanding of Kenyan alcohol laws and age limits.
- Communication: Fluent in English & Kiswahili (Dholuo is an advantage).
- Physical: Able to lift crates and stand for long periods.
- Soft Skills: Friendly, trustworthy, and customer-focused.
