Job Vacancy: HR Officer – Kisumu
Location: Kisumu, Kenya

Our client in the hospitality and FMCG industry, based in Kisumu, is seeking to recruit a proactive HR Officer to support their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee welfare, and performance management support.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
- Maintain updated employee records and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and company HR policies.
- Support management in handling employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Administer employee benefits and leave management.
- Participate in performance management cycles and track appraisals/KPIs.
- Assist in implementing HR systems and employee engagement programs.
- Coordinate training and development programs as needed.
- Prepare HR reports and updates for management decisions.
- Foster a productive, compliant, and positive workplace environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on HR experience.
- Membership with a recognized HR body (e.g., IHRM) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with unionized employees is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS is an added advantage.
- Experience in hotel or bakery industry is a strong plus.
- Must reside in Kisumu or be willing to relocate.
