Field Coordinator – Digital Divide Data (DDD)
About the role
Digital Divide Data (DDD) seeks a Field Coordinator to connect with Luhya-speaking communities: recruit and organize contributors, guide accessible recording sessions, ensure high-quality Luhya audio is collected and submitted on schedule, and report progress to the project team. Your work will directly support language representation in global technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and organize Luhya-speaking contributors and ensure diverse dialect coverage.
- Guide participants through recording sessions using simple computer tools; ensure sessions are smooth and engaging.
- Ensure audio recordings are clear, accurate and meet quality standards.
- Manage submission of recordings on time to meet project milestones.
- Motivate and lead contributors to meet collection targets while maintaining a positive environment.
- Report field progress, issues and insights to the project team to improve processes.
Qualifications
- Native or fluent Luhya speaker with familiarity with multiple dialects.
- Strong reading and verbal communication skills in Luhya.
- Basic computer literacy (Google Suite, saving files, using new software).
- Keen attention to detail and ability to enforce quality standards.
- Experience in field coordination, recruitment, or community mobilization is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
