Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and proactive Boiler Technicians to join our team in Kisumu. The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial boilers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Role Requirements: Strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement through Kaizen methodologies such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of boilers and related systems
- Carry out repairs, servicing, and adjustments to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable boiler operations
- Install, assemble, commission, and support the integration of new boiler equipment as needed
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, replace defective parts, and ensure timely restoration
- Monitor boiler performance parameters and apply Kaizen/TPM practices to maximize efficiency
- Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance schedules, and technical reports
- Train and guide boiler operators on correct usage and preventive maintenance
- Supervise teams of 3–10 personnel within boiler operations
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams for process improvements
- Provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns
- Work in both day and night shifts as required
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Supervisory experience is an added advantage
- Experience in biomass and diesel boilers
- Strong understanding of boiler maintenance and repair procedures
- Familiarity with Kaizen methodologies, especially TPM
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
