Nursing Council warns against Northlands College: Not accredited for nursing training
The Nursing Council of Kenya has cautioned the public against enrolling at Northlands International Medical Training College, saying the institution is not accredited to offer nursing training programmes.
In a statement released Tuesday, the regulator said the college is purporting to offer nursing courses without approval, warning that any training conducted there will not be recognised for professional practice in Kenya.
The Council emphasised that it remains the sole authority mandated to approve nursing and midwifery training institutions and programmes in the country.
Warning on Nurse Aid and Nursing Assistant Courses
The regulator also issued a specific warning regarding Nursing Assistant and Nurse Aid training, stating that such programmes are not recognised within its regulatory framework.
The Council urged prospective students and parents to verify accreditation status before enrolling, warning that failure to do so could result in invalid qualifications.
Members of the public were advised to check the official NCK website for the updated list of approved institutions and programmes as of April 20, 2026.
Clarification from NCK
NCK clarified that the notice is meant to caution the public, not to embarrass any individual or institution, and stated it will not be held liable for damages resulting from reliance on unapproved training information.
Further inquiries were directed to the Council's official communication channels: info@nckenya.go.ke and standards@nckenya.go.ke.
