Safarilink launches double daily flights: Direct Kisumu–Entebbe route boosts regional travel
Regional air travel is set for a major boost after Safarilink Airlines introduced double daily flights linking Nairobi, Kisumu and Entebbe — including the first direct Entebbe–Kisumu service.
The new schedule departs from Wilson Airport, offering daily morning flights and additional afternoon frequencies on selected days. The timing allows travellers to move between the three cities and complete same-day business or leisure trips with greater convenience.
According to the airline, the new service has been designed to create smoother connections between Kisumu International Airport and Entebbe International Airport, improving travel options between Kenya and Uganda and opening up faster access across the Lake Victoria region.
First direct Kisumu–Entebbe link
For the first time, passengers can now travel directly between Kisumu and Entebbe without routing through Nairobi. The airline has introduced introductory fares of $110 (KSh 14,185.60) for the Kisumu–Entebbe route as it looks to stimulate demand and grow travel along the Lake Victoria corridor.
Safarilink says the move strengthens the Nairobi–Kisumu–Entebbe corridor while also making it easier for travellers to connect onward to other regional destinations.
Boost for trade, tourism and investment
The airline believes the new route will play a key role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries. CEO Alex Avedi previously noted that the service is expected to support trade, tourism and cross-border investment.
The airline also highlighted the significance of the 45-minute flight between Kisumu and Entebbe, which positions Kisumu as a growing gateway to both East and Central Africa.
Safarilink currently operates more than 30 daily flights across regional destinations, and the launch of the Entebbe–Kisumu route marks another step in expanding regional connectivity and improving travel options for business and leisure travellers alike.
