About the Opportunity
Safaricom PLC believes in the power of storytelling to inspire, educate, and entertain. Through our Baze platform, we are committed to amplifying authentic Kenyan voices and showcasing high-quality local content.
As part of our ongoing roll-out, we are inviting creators, producers, and storytellers to submit already produced / existing content, including User Generated Content (UGC), for distribution and monetization on Baze.
This is an open call for bold, engaging, and culturally relevant content that reflects the diversity, creativity, and everyday experiences of Kenyan youth.
What We Are Looking For
We welcome completed content across a wide range of genres and formats, including:
Premium/Long-Form Content
- Drama (series, films, mini-series)
- Comedy (sitcoms, sketch shows, web series)
- Short films & feature films
- Theatre productions (recorded or adapted)
- Documentaries & reality formats
- Podcasts (audio & video)
- Music content (performances, shows, documentaries)
- Lifestyle, finance, and faith-based programming
Short-Form & Digital-First Content
- Micro-drama (vertical, episodic storytelling)
- Comedy skits and character-led content
- Dance and performance content
- Sports and fitness content
- Food and cooking content
User Generated Content (UGC) & Creator-Led Formats
We are actively seeking relatable, high-engagement UGC content that reflects youth culture and inspires participation:
- "How-to" content (e.g. recipes, dance tutorials, fitness routines, music behind-the-scenes, gameplay walkthroughs)
- "Day in the Life" content (e.g. campus life, hustle culture, creators, gamers, daily experiences)
- Interactive & Trend-Driven Content (e.g. challenges, dance trends, audience participation formats)
Content Direction
Content should be:
- Authentic, relatable, and rooted in Kenyan culture
- Youth-focused (18-35), aligned with current consumption trends
- Engaging, shareable, and optimized for digital platforms
- Mobile-first where applicable (especially for short-form & UGC)
- Designed to inspire creation and participation, not just passive consumption
Key high-performing content categories (based on audience insights): Music, Comedy, Dance, Sports/Fitness, Food, and Podcasts.
Who Can Submit
- Independent creators and influencers
- Production companies, studios and content distributors
- Filmmakers and storytellers
- Digital content creators (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
- Musicians, podcasters, and performers
Submission Requirements
To submit your content, please provide:
- Content Overview – Title and genre, brief synopsis or description, format (series, film, podcast, short-form, UGC, etc.), duration/number of episodes (if applicable).
- Content Link (Required) – A viewing link to your completed content (Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). Ensure access permissions are enabled.
- Creator/Company Profile – Brief background and experience.
- Audience & Reach (Optional but encouraged) – Platforms where content is currently hosted, performance insights (views, engagement, audience type).
