Make Me Smile Kenya (MMS-K) is a Kenyan non-profit established in 2008. Our mission: help you help yourself. We run an accredited NITA Vocational Training Centre in Kolwa East, Kisumu, offering hands-on training in Clothing and Textile / Fashion and Design, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, ICT, and Solar PV Installation.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a qualified and competent Vocational & Technical Trainer to deliver practical, competency-based training in Clothing and Textile / Fashion and Design. You will prepare trainees for NITA Trade Test examinations and support them through industrial attachment.
YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE:
- Delivering practical and competency-based training in Clothing and Textile / Fashion and Design
- Preparing lesson plans, training materials, and practical demonstrations
- Guiding and supervising trainees in garment construction, pattern making, and fashion design
- Assessing trainees through continuous assessments, practical assignments, and evaluations
- Preparing trainees for NITA Trade Test examinations
- Supporting trainees in securing and completing industrial attachment
- Mentoring trainees on professional conduct, creativity, and entrepreneurship
- Maintaining training records, attendance registers, and trainee performance reports
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- ✔️ Kenyan Citizen
- ✔️ KCSE mean Grade D (Plain) or equivalent
- ✔️ Diploma in Technical Education (Clothing & Textile / Fashion & Design) or equivalent from a recognised institution
- ✔️ Registration with TVET Authority
- ✔️ CBET training will be an added advantage
- ✔️ Proficiency in computer applications
- ✔️ Fulfilment of Chapter Six (6) requirements of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya
