Kisumu Specialists Hospital invites applications from qualified, experienced, and passionate individuals to fill the position of Cook.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook balanced meals for patients, staff, and visitors according to daily menus and dietary needs.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Collaborate with nutritionists or dieticians to meet dietary restrictions.
- Ensure safe storage, handling, and rotation of food.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
- Work with cooks, kitchen assistants, and staff to ensure smooth service.
- Assist in serving food in patient wards, staff canteen, or service areas.
- Comply with hospital policies, food safety, and statutory regulations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years of work experience as a cook, preferably in a hospital.
- Certificate in Food Production or related field.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and food safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain hygiene standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Terms of Engagement: 2-year renewable contract.
