Position: Cath Lab Nurse

Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
Job Summary
The Cath Lab Nurse will operate and monitor sophisticated life support equipment in the Cath Lab, while demonstrating leadership, management skills, and a high level of expertise in current Cath Lab practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures as scrub nurse, circulating nurse, or hemodynamic monitoring nurse
- Recognize and implement nursing intervention for managing contrast/anaphylactic reactions
- Perform assessment and planning of care needs, implementing evidence-based care programs
- Participate in multi-disciplinary on-call team for cardiac emergencies including Primary PCI procedures
- Assess patients for early signs of post-procedural complications
- Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure proper utilization of medical supplies
- Schedule Cath Lab bookings for efficient patient flow and timely operations
- Uphold infection control measures and aseptic techniques
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma in Critical Care, OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Registration with Nursing Council of Kenya
- Valid practicing license
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory setting
- Specialized training in Cardiac Nursing (advantage)
- Strong commitment to high standards of patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic towards patients
