Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: KCSE Mean Grade D plain or equivalent
- Experience: 3 years at Driver III or comparable position
- License: Valid BCE driving license (no endorsements)
- Certification: Occupational Trade Test III for Drivers
- Training: Defensive Driving Certificate from AA Kenya or equivalent
- Refresher Course: 1+ week at KIHBT or recognized institution
- First-Aid: 1+ week certificate from St. John Ambulance or KIHBT
- Document: Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
- Skills: Proficiency in Computer Applications
- Performance: Demonstrated merit and ability in work performance
Key Responsibilities
The Driver II is responsible for the safe and smooth mobility of Authority employees and resources, ensuring optimal vehicle condition and adherence to traffic laws.
Duties include:
- Driving authorized vehicles as assigned
- Ensuring safety of passengers and goods
- Maintaining vehicle security on and off road
- Adhering to Traffic Act and fleet management policies
- Reporting incidents immediately as per procedures
- Conducting periodic vehicle maintenance checks
- Maintaining up-to-date vehicle mileage logs
- Ensuring vehicle cleanliness and good condition
- Managing vehicle fueling as per policies
- Scheduling regular vehicle servicing
- Inspecting vehicles and maintaining insurance documents
- Ensuring vehicles have necessary tools and equipment
