The Central Bank of Kenya is a public institution established under Article 231 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. The Kisumu Branch serves Western Kenya region, responsible for monetary policy implementation, currency issuance, and financial stability in the region.
CBK Kisumu Branch promotes financial stability through regulation and supervision of financial institutions in Western Kenya, and provides banking services to the Government in the region.
Job Purpose
The holder will serve as the custodian of all stores, materials, and movable assets at CBK Kisumu Branch, ensuring accurate inventory control, secure storage, and proper record-keeping in compliance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA) 2015 and internal control procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Control and Reconciliation
- Receive, inspect and document incoming goods and materials for Kisumu Branch
- Issue store items to authorized departments within Kisumu Branch
- Maintain up-to-date stock records for Kisumu Branch operations
- Implement stock rotation methods (FIFO/FEFO) to prevent losses
- Conduct physical stock-taking at Kisumu Branch storage facilities
- Ensure storage areas at Kisumu Branch maintain highest standards of safety and security
- Adhere to standard operating procedures in stock management
Asset Management for Kisumu Branch
- Ensure all movable assets at Kisumu Branch are physically tagged and registered
- Maintain comprehensive Assets Register for Kisumu Branch
- Participate in annual physical verification of assets at Kisumu Branch
- Compile lists of obsolete materials and assets for Kisumu Branch
- Participate in asset disposal processes at the branch level
Documentation and Reporting
- Ensure all store documents for Kisumu Branch are properly filed
- Prepare periodic reports on inventory levels for Kisumu Branch
- Perform any other assigned roles and responsibilities specific to Kisumu Branch
Qualifications
- Diploma in Supply Chain management, Stores Management, Purchasing and Suppliers Management or Logistics from a recognised institution
- Be an Associate Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) OR be eligible for membership
Work Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in stores operations or inventory control
- Experience in Western Kenya region or Kisumu area is an added advantage
- Preferably within the public sector or large organization in Kisumu
