Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Specialist to optimize delivery operations and ensure seamless coordination across teams. Based in Kisumu, Kenya, you will manage transport planning, real-time monitoring, and data-driven improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination:
- Arrange vehicles, drivers, routes, and delivery timelines efficiently
- Optimize resource utilization (e.g., improve vehicle loading rates)
Process Management:
- Execute transportation, loading/unloading, and exception-handling procedures
- Operate TMS logistics systems for real-time tracking and task assignment
Problem Resolution:
- Address unexpected events (e.g., delays, reassignments, or urgent insertions) promptly
Data-Driven Optimization:
- Apply basic data analysis skills (time efficiency, cost analysis) to refine operations
Compliance & Accountability:
- Maintain meticulous work standards, strong responsibility, and execution discipline
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
Experience:
More than 3 years of logistics/transportation related experience.
Skills:
- Resource Coordination: Ability to balance multiple demands and resolve operational bottlenecks
- Communication: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for internal/external collaboration
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with road networks in Western Kenya (Kisumu-centric) is preferred
