Job Overview: Enumerator
Location: North Nyakach, Kisumu County
Position Type: Part-time (6-month contract)
Reports to: Senior Enumerator
Residency Requirement: Must be resident of Lower Nyakach
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection:
- Collect accurate data for core program and studies as designed by M&E Team
- Conduct baseline, midline and endline surveys
- Upload data immediately after collection
- Double-check and synchronize all collected data daily
- Provide weekly reports on field challenges
Field Operations:
- Conduct Business and BSG spot-checks
- Share best practices for program improvement
- Serve as community liaison representative
- Translate survey content from English to local language
Reporting & Compliance:
- Submit accurate monthly reports to M&E Team
- Attend all required M&E trainings
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies
- Report any safeguarding incidents appropriately
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma in any discipline
- Prior experience/exposure in research disciplines
- Understanding of data quality elements
- Must be resident of Lower Nyakach
Core Competencies:
- Flexibility to various work schedules
- Ability to operate mobile data collection technology
- Passion for working with illiterate/poor communities
- Willingness for extensive movement within rural settings
- Translation skills from English to local language
- Adaptability to changing work demands
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Sensitize program participants about risks of abuse and exploitation
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct
- Report any incidents for appropriate action and follow-up
