About the Role
The Tele Collection Agent will work closely with various stakeholders including risk management, sales team, and regional collections managers to serve customers who have stopped or delayed making instalments for units purchased on PAYG basis. The agent will provide proper, efficient and timely service to reduce disabled customers and enhance portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers to remind them of outstanding payments using provided scripts and call guides
- Re-educate delinquent customers on key terms of the sale agreement
- Negotiate payment arrangements considering customers' financial situations
- Set up repayment plans and record new covenants to repay debt
- Verify clients' KYC details and update account information in collections system
- Provide excellent customer service addressing questions and concerns professionally
- Ensure adherence to company policies and consumer protection regulations
- Meet or exceed daily and weekly targets for calls and collections (KPIs)
- Record and escalate abnormal issues (faulty products, suspected fraud, etc.)
- Utilize computer systems for skip tracing
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field
- Fluent in both English and Swahili
- Proven experience as a Collection Representative or relevant role
- Knowledgeable about MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Team player, fast learner, and positive attitude
- Patience, tenacity, and persuasiveness
- Excellent time management and shift flexibility
- Additional training/certificate in Credit Management, Debt Collection & Recovery, Negotiation & Conflict Resolution, or CRM (advantage)
- Experience with analytical tools (added advantage)
