Inside the Complaints Rocking Riley Falcon Security Operations in Kisumu
Private protection services provider Riley Falcon Security Limited is once again at the centre of employee complaints, with staff at its Kisumu branch alleging a pattern of restrictive working conditions marked by denial of rest days, threats of dismissal when requesting leave, and disputed payment practices tied to reporting for duty without corresponding compensation.
Workers further claim that deductions linked to training and uniform costs are imposed without clear documentation or issuance of payslips, while raising concerns that attempts to seek clarification through supervisory channels are often met with intimidation, deepening tension within the workforce and prompting renewed calls for labour oversight intervention.
"Vipi Nyakundi. Bro kindly hebu ingilia kati kuna hii company inaitwa Riley Falcon Security Limited, specifically Kisumu branch. Hapa hakuna off na ukiomba off unatishiwa na supervisor kwamba utafutwa kazi. The worst thing ni kwamba usipoenda off hiyo umesaidia company hakuna kulipwa. So the company is taking advantage of it. Alafu ukiomba payslip hupewi, unakatwa pesa ya training na uniform the whole year. The supervisor behind hizo threats anaitwa Waka. Kindly hide identity."
What workers are alleging
According to multiple complaints, the Kisumu branch operates without a proper rest day policy. Employees who request time off are reportedly threatened with dismissal by a supervisor known as "Waka."
Even worse, workers say that if they choose to report for duty on what should be their rest day, they receive no extra pay — meaning the company benefits from their labour without compensation.
On top of that, deductions for training and uniform are allegedly made throughout the year, yet staff never receive payslips to account for these charges. Any worker who questions the system faces intimidation.
Calls for labour oversight
The situation has sparked renewed demands for intervention from the Ministry of Labour and relevant oversight bodies. Security guards in Kisumu, like many casual and contract workers, often operate without union representation, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation.
Riley Falcon Security Limited has faced similar complaints in the past, but this is the first time a detailed account has emerged specifically from its Kisumu branch.
