Job Summary
Otro Night Club is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead the people and culture function. The role will focus on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with labour laws, and building a strong workplace culture within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker, people-focused leader, and experienced HR professional capable of managing the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Management
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified talent
- Manage the full hiring process: job advertising, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Ensure proper orientation and induction for new employees
- Build talent pipelines for future staffing needs
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations issues
- Develop and implement performance management systems and appraisals
- Handle disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution
- Promote a positive workplace culture and staff engagement initiatives
HR Policies & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and employment regulations
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation
- Oversee contracts, leave management, and staff welfare programs
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate staff development programs
- Organize workshops and professional development initiatives
- Support leadership in building high-performing teams
Payroll & HR Administration
- Work closely with the accounts department to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Manage statutory compliance and PAYE coordination
- Monitor attendance, shift scheduling, and workforce planning
Requirements
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (IHRM) is an added advantage
- Minimum 2-4 years' HR experience, preferably in hospitality or service industry
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- High integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing teams in hospitality, nightlife, hotel, or restaurant settings (added advantage)
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities
