About Nuru Ya Mtoto Project
Nuru Ya Mtoto is a county-level service delivery project funded by USG through PEPFAR and implemented by PATH Kenya (March 2021 - September 2026). The project provides comprehensive HIV care and treatment services to people living with HIV (PLHIV), including children and adolescents.
Operating Counties: Kakamega, Kisumu, Nyamira, and Vihiga.
Job Summary
PATH Kenya through Nuru Ya Mtoto Project seeks a Procurement Officer to oversee the project's strategic and day-to-day supply chain processes. Under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, the successful candidate will ensure efficient and effective procurement of goods and services.
Location: Kisumu Sub-Office

Experience: Minimum 6 years NGO experience
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out procurement processes in line with PATH policies, donor regulations, and Kenyan law
- Prepare formal invitations for bids and requests for quotations
- Routinely sensitize project staff on procurement processes
- Serve on procurement review committee meetings and take minutes
- Track orders and confirm lead times, delivery dates, and costs
- Conduct vendor circularization and accounts reconciliation
- Prepare weekly procurement reports and ad hoc reports
- Participate in developing, facilitating, and monitoring procurement plans
- Ensure proper vendor registration and due diligence (including Bridger checks)
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and value maximization
- Ensure invoices are properly supported before payment
- Maintain accurate procurement records

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in any business-related field with procurement specialization
- Up to date KISM membership (mandatory)
- Master's degree in Business Administration or CIPS qualification (added advantage)
- Minimum 6 years progressive relevant experience preferably in NGO sector
- Outstanding communication and report writing skills
- In-depth knowledge of US Government grant and procurement regulations
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Business World, Microsoft Office
- Hands-on experience with ERPs (embedded procurement module)
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team
